Research & Talks
Research
I am keen on exploring the confluence of UX design, sociology, and psychology to create solutions that resonate deeply with societal needs.
My research aims to investigate how multidisciplinary approaches in these fields can foster robust collaborations, leading to more empathetic and user-centric design outcomes. I plan to examine the tools and frameworks necessary for these collaborations, understanding what structures are essential for effective and impactful engagement.
Ultimately, my work seeks to discover how we can harness the power of design in tandem with insights from sociology and psychology, to drive positive social change and cultivate meaningful societal benefits.
My current research explores the effectiveness of national campaigns in Singapore from a social design perspective. It explores how service design can drive social impact, examining the role of design in behavioural change and social innovation.
This study investigates practical ways that design can contribute to societal well-being, specifically by identifying key factors that influence the success of these design initiatives.
PURPOSE FOR GROWTH
Unilever
We discussed methods of developing SMEs with an emphasis on sustainable growth. The key takeaway from these dialogues was the understanding that business growth and societal benefit are interconnected, and can effectively complement each other when approached strategically. This initiative served as an essential opportunity to observe the potential for SMEs to thrive in ways that extend beyond financial success and to also positively impact the community and the environment.
LOWER-INCOME FAMILIES COLABS 2022
National Volunteer and Philanthropic Centre
We explored in-depth the existing initiatives aimed at supporting lower-income families. The focus was on understanding the core issues and needs faced by these families. Through collaborative discussions, we examined insights into the root causes of their challenges, brainstorming potential ideas to create meaningful and sustainable change. This initiative was a vital platform for exploring new opportunities to make a tangible difference in the lives of lower-income families.
